Features

 

 Xbox modchips are electronic devices that modify or disable the built-in restrictions of the Xbox. The Xbox has gone through several generations of modchips each using different methods to disable built-in restrictions. A majority of the modchips developed connect to the LPC bus pads that are located on all of the different revisions of the Xbox Motherboard. These Xbox modchips are capable of circumventing region coding and copy protection. This allows users to play games created in different regions and load burned discs. This has opened up the opportunity for the use of third-party homebrew software and legal backup discs.

 

Hard drive upgrades are obtainable with a modchip which allows you to have a larger than normal hard drive installed where you can save and copy your games to and play directly from the hard drive without the need for a game disc.

Emulators and ROMs:

 

To get us started, I'm going to speak about Emulators. Emulators are used to, emulate for lack of a better word (since that's exactly what they do), the games they're designed for. The modding community has ported over some of the best emulators you can find on the PC over to the Xbox. There are a vast majority of such things that can be found on a website which I won't link you to directly because I believe emulators are considered "warez", but I'll push you in the right direction :wink:.

 

 You'll also need "ROMs" which are the files from the game cartridges that have been extracted to the computer. I'm still now allowed to link these so I'll give you the names of some good websites.
